These are all official government sanctioned versions of the United States of America’s Pledge of Allegiance that we all learned by heart in Grade School.

You may not know it, but it wasn’t always the same 31 words, and has changed ever so slightly over the years since the United States was founded in 1776. Below, find six alternate versions as found throughout history. Changes are in Bold with each update. Initially it seems the committee in question (Congress) sought to clarify details, then in the 50′s, it brought in religion.

The last version is a wild prediction for the future, as I imagine our government will someday be owned outright by larger corporate interests.
