My Raspberry Pi Has Arrived!

with one comment

After a long wait (and the announcement I can buy them in bulk appearing only a week ago), I finally received my Raspberry Pi development board. Pictures (unboxing?) below:

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer board that plugs into a TV and a keyboard. It’s a miniature ARM-based PC which can be used for many of the things that a desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays High-Definition video. The Raspberry Pi is supplied as the board only, and comes without memory, power supply, keyboard, case or cables.

It has my Raspberry Pi OS SD card installed in that last picture. I neglected to pick up a power supply, so I might play with it powering over USB as soon as I find some free time in my busy schedule!

I bought my Pi at RS Components in the U.K.. My grand total with shipping was just under $60.

Stay tuned for my first Pi Project!
